Deep Reading Seminar (4th of November!)

Deep Reading Seminar by SAI

Hey everyone, Freyja here!

I am a teachers assistant at SAI, and together with Ståle Wig and Charline Kopf, have arranged Deep Reading seminars this semester. We have had good feedback and would now like to open them up for everyone studying social anthropology at UiO, that wants to join! We will provide some drinks and snacks.

Take a book, sit down and try not to check your mobile phone until you have read it from cover to cover. When was the last time you did something like that? This is a seminar for those who want to get through the curriculum effectively, and at the same time learn to focus deeper and better. You will improve your reading and study techniques, and learn what it takes to handle difficult tasks in less time.

In this seminar, we will all sit together and read from 10 to 15.30, preferably not on a screen and without distractions for 4,5 hours. We recommend staying until 15.30 – it’s a special experience!

Practical info:

Time: 4th of November, 10:00 – 15:30

Place: «Oasen» at the first level in the HumSam library, Georg Sverdrups house at Blindern.

Deep Reading Seminar is a session planned and held by people affiliated with the Institute of Social Anthropology at the University of Oslo. We have been asked to help them spread the news as they would like to offer this opportunity to more students.
